I am sure I completed a performance-based question correctly, but it was scored incorrectly on the assessment.
Answer
To receive a correct score on a performance-based assessment question, you must use the method indicated in the question text ("Use the menu to...", "Use the toolbar to..."). There are multiple ways to complete many tasks within an application and in order to use the least bandwidth and memory possible, the CBT can only accept one correct method. The acceptable method matches the method taught in the course, and is always called out in the text of the question.
When running the course in my browser, I get the error "Updated version of runtime is required to run this stream". Where can I get the update?
Answer
You may not have the most up-to-date course player. Contact technical support with the error message, and we will email you an upgraded Player.
The screens seem distorted, text is cut off, or the navigation buttons are not there. What is wrong?

Your font size may be set to a non-standard size.
Please follow these steps to return your font to a standard size:
In the start menu, open the Control Panel
Choose the "Display" Control Panel to open the Display Properties
Select the "Appearance" Tab
Under the drop down menu for "Font size", select "Normal"
Click OK to close the Control Panel and apply the Settings.
What is wrong if I am viewing the course or quiz screen and the buttons are hidden or overlapped by text or other images on the screen?
Answer
Some courses are designed for a 640x480 screen resolution & small fonts. On some machines higher resolutions could cause the text boxes to move. Try changing the resolution to 640x480.
I downloaded the Neuron plugin and set it to non-secure mode. When I try to run the course, nothing happens. Why?
Answer
The first time you run these courses in your browser, it may take up to 30 minutes to load. Be patient, it only happens the first time you run the course. Don't use your computer for anything else while you are waiting, using email or surfing will delay it even longer.
I installed the course, and now I receive the error message "Initialization failed". What's the problem?
Answer
This error message usually is resolved by rebooting the computer.
I am trying to install a course from CD-ROM and after I insert the license diskette that came with the CD, I get an error "license code is invalid". What should I do?
Answer
Each CD-ROM usually contains 5 to 10 different courses on a topic but you only receive an activation code for the specific course you ordered. Check the course IDs to make sure you are attempting to install the course for which you have the license. If you are in fact installing the correct course, there could be a problem with the floppy diskette, contact technical support for a new code.
When I log-in to the courses, the CBT prompts that the login is in use and exits to Windows? How do I resolve this?
Answer
This happens in course IDs beginning with NT when you try to login after the course was exited abnormally. The easiest solution is to use a different login ID and password to access the course. This problem is sometimes avoided by installing the course with the virus scanner disabled.

When I run a PLxxxx course I don't hear any sound.
Answer
The PLxxxx courses require the Adobe Flash plugin to present the courseware audio. You can get the plugin by reviewing the FAQ about plugins or from the "Check Requirements" page in every course launch area.
I'm having trouble starting the online courses. What can I do?
Answer
Check the System Requirements for the course you are trying to start. Be sure your system and configuration meet the requirements. At a minimum, you must use Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.01 SP2 or later or Netscape Navigator version 4.06 or later for your Internet browser.
If you are using Internet Explorer 5.0, update the Virtual Machine for your browser.
It normally takes longer for courses to load in Netscape Navigator compared to Internet Explorer. If you are using Navigator, it can take several minutes for your courses to start.
If you are connected to the Internet via a modem rather than a T1 line, DSL, or other high-speed connection, the loading time for courses will increase.
Clear your Internet browser's cache (temporary files).
If you are using AOL or Compuserve as your Internet Service Provider, make sure you are using a full installation of Internet Explorer and not the version your ISP provides for you.
The course does not launch. Could it be my pop-up blocker?
Answer
Please make sure you have disabled all pop-up or ad blockers, or configure your pop-up blocker to add campus.serebra.net to the list of trusted sites.
Does the courseware run on Windows 7?
Answer
The off-the-shelf courseware will run online in all versions of Windows 7. Downloadable versions of the courses, when available, are not officially supported in Windows 7. Contact technical support for assistance.
Why is the downloadable content not supported in Windows 7?
Answer
We have had varying degrees of success running downloadable content in Windows 7 environments. Users are free to try downloadable content in Windows 7 if they wish. Downloadable content is not available for all courses.
What versions of Windows 7 have been tested?
Answer
We have tested Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, 32-bit. Online courses are more dependent on the browser (for example: Internet Explorer 8) than the Operating System. Internet Explorer 8 has been tested on many platforms including Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
